About Achor Center
Hello! Welcome to Achor Center! I’m Dr. Erica Carter, and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to connect with you. As a client-centered, integrative practice, our mission is to restore hope, renew faith, and transform lives, one client and family at a time. We are dedicated to helping you navigate life’s challenges, discover your inner strengths, and improve your emotional well-being and overall satisfaction with life.
I firmly believe that establishing a strong therapeutic alliance is the cornerstone of effective treatment.
As a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I specialize in working with adults 18+, couples, and families who are dealing with a range of mental health issues. In addition, I provide clinical supervision to graduate students. My extensive background includes a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree in Advanced Studies in Psychotherapy and Counseling, along with an Advanced Certificate in Self-Psychology. Before obtaining my doctorate, I received a Master of Divinity (MDiv.). Throughout my career, I have provided therapy in a variety of settings, including community mental health, group practice, and residential facilities. I provide support for a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress management, life transitions, and spiritual concerns.
I believe in creating a safe space filled with empathy, compassion, and trust, while fostering hope, healing, and transformation for my clients.
By creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment, I aim to help individuals heal from their emotional suffering, empowering them to discover their true, authentic selves and lead healthy, productive lives. Together, let’s explore new ways of thinking, new ways of living, and new ways of coping.
To ensure a comprehensive approach, I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities into my practice.
These include Client-Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In addition to my clinical background, I have a theological education, conducted doctoral research, and have over 20 years of ministerial experience. This unique combination allows me to integrate faith and spirituality for those who seek a faith-based approach to treatment.
Self-care is not an option, it’s a necessity.

In my personal time, I serve faithfully at my church as a leader and minister. I believe in spiritual self-care, as well as physical, mental, and emotional self-care. I have a passion for teaching, encouraging, and helping others on this journey called life. I love dancing, listening to live music, and spending quality time with family and friends.

At Achor Center, we are committed to your well-being and growth. Take the courageous step towards transformation by reaching out to schedule an appointment. Together, we can embark on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and profound healing.
